PGCC Instructor Also PGA Tour Trainer |
Bill Picca, faculty member of the Professional Golfers Career College, is a dedicated teacher with a golf course as a classroom. For Picca, teaching Golf is not just about helping students at PGCC, who are already good golfers, play better. He values the importance of learning to love the game at any age, which is why he spends much of his time passing his skills along to diverse groups of students.
For a good demonstration of his dedication, one can look to the group of 12 youngsters, ranging in age from 5 to 14, who participate in his daily after school Golf Program at West Junior Golf. Taking on a class of that nature is not an enviable task, especially considering that Golf is a game that tests the patience and focus of even the most well adjusted adult. Perhaps it is his own history that allows him to enjoy working with youngsters so much. His parents were passionate about golf, and at the age of 7, his interests followed suit at the San Luis Golf Club in Argentina, his native country, where he still holds membership to the Argentine PGA.
For nearly three decades Bill has dedicated himself to skill development, becoming an accredited instructor for such major forces as the PGA, becoming a PGA Tour trainer, and a player’s coach for the Accenture World Golf Championship. Considering his long and illustrious instructing career it came as no surprise when he became a member of the faculty at the Professional Golfers Career College, a school with a mission to educate the future leaders in the world of Golf.
When asked what he loves most about teaching his reply is simple. “Teaching allows me to share a wonderful passion with people from all walks of life and all ages and that it is, in itself, a priceless gift.” A simple statement, that says it all. |
